Memorial Day fun

My dad moved into a new house a while ago, and they just put in a new pool! We all came over on Memorial Day weekend to help break it in :)
All the kids had lots of fun swimming and playing in the water. Even the big kids (aka adults) had lots of fun on the water slide! Hudson did not want to go down the slide, so Abe made him at least go under the waterfall with him :)

I made some green popsicles for the kids to try... they have pineapple, avocado, and spinach in them- sounds weird, I know :) But one of my friends says her kids love them, so I figured it was worth a try to get my kid some more veggies! Most of the kids liked them (except Kylie- who is probably even more picky about food than Hudson... which is hard to do). I think next time I will put a little more pineapple (or just a little less of the veggies, so they'll be a bit more sweet). We decided to call them "Shrek-sicles" so they sounded more fun.

Papa Kurt had the wheelbarrow out from working in the yard, and the kids decided they needed to go for a ride. At first they were nice, slow, leisurely rides around the yard.....

Until it turned into the "crazy trian!" The kids had a blast and laughed their little hearts out- and of course let out a few excited/frightened screams.

On Memorial Day Abe worked, so Hudson and I joined some friends who were nice enough to invite us over for hot dogs and running in the sprinklers.

Hudson LOVED it. All the boys had a great time. Thanks for inviting us!

And in case you want to try a new dessert...
"Shrek-sicles"
1/2 can pinapple chunks (I might use a little more)
1/2 avocado
2 big handfuls of spinach
Blend well, and freeze in popsicle molds

I might make something like that for Jake... No pineapple for him yet, but I might be able to come up with something! The pool looks like a lot of fun!

Those wheelbarrow pictures are great. And Shrek-sicles are a perfect name for your new treat.

I am not a picky eater, but I think I would have to go with Kylie on that one. I love the picture of your dad and some of his grandkids. So cute.
