Even though the potato sack race was intended for the little kids, the adults had to get in on the fun too!! It was pretty funny to see them try to squeeze into the little pillow cases. Abe is the one in the black hat.
Hudson enjoyed playing in the rocks with sticks- being a typical boy :)
He also enjoyed picking leaves off of a plant and throwing them everywhere. This is the only reason why I can appreciate not having my backyard landscape in yet- I'm afraid none of the plants would survive because Hudson would pick off every leaf and flower he could reach.
Abe and our friend Stephan entered the Pie Eating Contest. These were not skimpy little whip cream pies, either, these were full on Lemon Meringue and Chocolate Mousse type pies. This is the "Before" picture (don't worry- they didn't really get to use their forks).
And this is the "After". Abe and Stephan pretty much tied- they beat about 20 other guys! Needless to say, they felt a little sick after eating all that pie.

Hey guys I saw a link to your blog on someone else's blog and had to come and check it out, your pioneer day thing looks like it was a ton of fun. I was up in Utah and I don't think that I even had THAT much fun. I can't believe how big Hudson is getting either, goodness they grow fast when you don't see them often. Well if you ever want to check out our blog you can find us at braddarcyellis.blogspot.com
Have a good one!
I bet hudson could've beat them in the pie eating contest, or at least given it a valiant effort! What baby doesn't love a messy face! P.s. Hudson has the biggest cutest eyes!
Okay- I love the sack racing and the pie eating contest! It looks like you guys had a blast!
Too much fun. I am sorry we missed it.
That is hilarious. I love the picture of Abe.
Yummy! I loved your Random Cuteness post. Hudson looked smashing in those white tennies!
