Abe and I were lucky enough to celebrate our 6th anniversary with a getaway to the Mexican Riviera! Thanks to wonderful grandparents, Hudson was also able to have a great time back at home without us.

Had to get a pic in front of the gigantic boat. These were both taken at our last port- Manzanillo. We mostly just walked around town and enjoyed some good food. Their downtown was really nice and I think the city was really pretty.

We practically ate ourselves to death! That is the one thing we definately enjoy about cruises- unlimited, wonderful food! We seriously each had like 2 appetizers, 2-3 entrees, and like 2 desserts every night :)

We were super lucky and happened to get seated at the same table as another younger couple, Melanie and Neil. We got along really well and hung out a lot on the boat, too.

Gotta love the towel animals the housekeepers leave for you!

Our first port was Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. It was a super cool place. We took a taxi out to where you can hop on a boat to this island. We went snorkeling and ate some super yummy mexican food. As you can tell from my leg, I got knocked into some coral and get a pretty bad scrape. When we came back from the island there was this swamp-like area right off the beach. There were all sorts of iguanas, birds, and alligators in it. We saw an alligator catch something to eat- it was pretty cool. We even saw a turtle climb onto an alligator's tail to sunbathe- the alligator didn't even seem to mind.

Here's a picture without my horrendous leg in it... much prettier to remember Ixtapa by.

Our 2nd stop was Acapulco. We went to where the cliff divers jump, but we just missed a show and they weren't going to do another one for a while. We decided to walk around for a bit, and then caught a taxi and asked him to take us to a pretty beach. He seriously drove for like a half hour, and we were wondering where he was taking us... but then we ended up here...

georgeous! and relaxing. We found some hammocks and relaxed in them for a while, then walked down to a place to get some food. After a while we headed back to the city to do some souvenier shopping. Although we had a good time in Acapulco I think it was our least favorite stop. The city was kind of dirty and it wasn't all that pretty.
As mentioned above, our 3rd stop was Manzanillo, which we had a great time in. After that we were headed back for California. I ended up getting sick (and then also seasick due to some stormy weather) so the last couple days are kind of a blur...lol. But we had a great time and it was wonderful to just relax and have a wonderful vacation! Hopefully we'll be able to go again some years down the road... maybe even the carribean some day.
