So for Abe's birthday I never know what to get him... his main hobby is garage saling (they don't really have any gift certificates for that)... and then anything I think about buying him I know he can get cheaper at a garage sale.... so I decided to try and get creative.
I signed him up for the Benihana Chef's Table club-- it's free and they email you a coupon for a FREE dinner up to $30 anytime during the month of your birthday. So we dropped Hudson off at my mom's and headed out to eat! While we were there the manager snapped this photo of us and printed it out before we left- then you can also go online and download it for free...how cool is that?!
Oh yah, we also got free dessert because we were there for his birthday...mmm...Then I also got him a night at a hotel in Scottsdale. We don't get to spend very much time together lately, so I thought it would be fun to have some time for just the two of us and be able to sleep in! I went on priceline and got a really good deal- and my friend Alyse let me use her credit card so Abe wouldn't suspect anything :) (I was pretty proud of myself for being able to actually make it a surprise)
When we went to the hotel I asked if they had any upgraded rooms available since it was for my husband's birthday, so they gave us one with a pretty view. We went out to dinner and then went swimming after that. When we came back to our room this is what we found! The concierge had written a little birthday note for Abe and left us a bottle of wine and some tuxedo strawberries! We were quite impressed. Obviously, we didn't have any use for the wine so Abe went and gave it to some people we had been talking to at the pool. We had a really nice weekend. If you are looking for a nice place to stay we went to the Doubletree in Scottsdale-- they have REALLY yummy warm chocolate chip cookies that they give you when you check in... and if you ask them they just might give you some when you check out too!!

I think we had a pretty good time celebrating Abe's birthday this year. It was fun to spread things out over the month of July. Hope you had a happy birthday- I love you Abe!

Wow, you guys have been busy! Going back to old posts - the go karts look like so much fun! Now to recent -what a fun birthday month Abe had! How nice and creative of you to do all that. One of these days, I need to do something creative for Matt's. :0) I'm not good at that. We stayed at DoubleTree on our honeymoon night, but I think it was the one closest to the airport. How cool about Benihana! Good deal!
