Merry Christmas!

Christmas was lots of fun this year. Hudson still didn't quite understand everything that was going on, but he sure enjoyed his presents! He has also learned to sing parts of Jingle Bells and Once there was a Snowman. I love it when he sings.

We spent Christmas Eve with just our little family. We rode our bikes around the neighborhood and delivered little gifts to some friends. Then later, we made cookies together as a family. We made peanut butter cookies with a chocolate kiss in the middle. Abe and I made the dough and rolled it into balls. Then Hudson enjoyed rolling the ball in the sugar before we put it on the cookie sheet.

Hudson had a bath, and then he got to open his new jammies and slippers! He is into Cars lately, not so much the movie as the toys and the merchandise. He was excited to wear them. We watched a Christmas movie, and then it was off to bed.....

...until Christmas morning! Santa brought Hudson a Lightning McQueen bean bag, along with two overstuffed Cars, and a Cars magna doodle.
We spent Christmas morning with just us at our house. Hudson had fun opening all of the presents- his and helping us with ours :) Then Abe made us breakfast (eggs, bacon, and muffins) while Hudson watched his new Letter Factory movie while relaxing on his Cars chair.
Then off we went to my dad's house to have Christmas there. We got more great stuff and had a fun time with family. It was pretty crazy with 5 kids under 5 trying to open presents.
After that, we all went to my mom's house. We opened more presents, had more food, and watched Iron Man. By this time all the kids were completely exhausted, but they did pretty well considering everything.
I really had a lot of fun this Christmas season, especially trying to help Hudson understand what it is all about. I wished I had a better kids book about the true meaning of Christmas, so I am buying one this week while they are all half off!!
Some things I am looking forward to doing next year with Hudson:
-Advent calendar/count down
-bake and decorate sugar cookies
-leave cookies for Santa
-make Christmas crafts
-go look at more lights
-teach him more Christmas songs
-give service/gifts to those in need
-have a nativity he can play with

....just writing these down so I will remember!

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!
